Its serene ambience bounded by flowing creeks and river is a pleasant surprise to visitors when realized it is only 15km from the CBD of the historic Celtic Capital of Australia Glen Innes.
For tents, camper trailers or caravans there are numerous picturesque unpowered campsites and campfire places along the wide flowing creek bank and deep water areas of the Reddestone creek, with excellent swimming holes where often sizeable fish up to 48cm have been caught, and of course further down in the shallows at our fossicking area the gem hounds search for the elusive “Reddestone blue sapphire”.
